OK! Get ready to read a book lol
Weeeell, I’ve been into art my whole life. I went to a specialized art middle school and high school. I got into The Art Institute of Pittsburgh, but when I saw the insane debt that I was going to be in upon graduating, I scrapped that idea. Then, I went with a less expensive option and attended Kent State University for graphic design. I really hated college because of all the entry level and gen-ed classes they were forcing me to take. So, I was a bit stuck on what I was going to do with my life. It had to be art related, of course. I then found out that a friend of mine, whom I went to school with, got an apprenticeship at a tattoo shop. I started going there to get tattoo work done and saw what it was all about and what she was doing. I thought, “if she can do it, I can!” With all kinds of love and encouragement from my boyfriend (I have to give him tons of credit), I waltzed in there with my portfolio and inquired about an apprenticeship. I was hired! I worked my butt off for a about a year and a half learning the trade, and a few months ago my bossman presented me with a certificate of completion.
So here I am, drawing, tattooing, and lovin’ life :D
Thanks for the question, love!
I’m tired of this plethora of unfinished tattoos! I want to post pictures but it seems like these big projects will never be done :/
